Mae is 22 years old. She was adopted from China as a baby and lives in Burlington VT. She currently attends College of Wooster, MA, where she is a geology major. Mae has been back to China twice once with her family and once with her high school class. She felt as though when she "went with my family it was nice, and I felt welcomed, but when I went with my school people often mistook me for a tour guide... so I kind of felt out of place."
